Executive Summary

Health Data Solutions Group Inc. is an independent consulting firm specialized in the design and implementation of IT solutions for the health care industry. We are a global professional services firm with annual revenues exceeding $50 million. Our team comprises more than 400 professionals that provide consulting services in Canada, England, Ireland and Germany, among other countries.
Our solutions are in active use across Canada and North America with a 99.9% up-time and 90% end- user satisfaction, based on independent research completed by Neilson Survey Research Group between 2010 and 2011. Health Data Solution Groups attributes these successful metrics to our ability to carefully plan, develop, and execute EHR operations model with strategic planning, careful resource budgeting and well thought out system and end-user workflows.

Health Data Solutions Group has created a unique system for assessing workflows for operations model by applying the following five principles:

  • Consider workflow redesign as a potential benefit of EHR Implementation
  • Involve all stakeholders, early and often
  • Pilot workflows: Begin at one or two initial sites with careful assessment and modification of
  • workflows
  • Do not underestimate the resources required
  • Remember that paper can contribute to an optimal workflow, particularly if it does not need to be filled

We are ready to deliver a complete evaluation and operations model plan in the allocated period of six months, starting in March 2012 and ending in September 2012. Our approach is organized into three phases:

  1. Planning (March 2012 – May 2012): consists of analysis, identification of stakeholders, workflow evaluations and creation of business rules.
  2. Evaluation and Decision Making (May 2012 – July 2012): consists of creating consensus over requirements of stakeholders, governance model, roles and responsibilities and budget (setup and maintenance). The main objective of this phase is to lock the scope of the project to reduce the incidence of expensive change requests.
  3. Operations model development (July 2012 – September 2012): delivery of the final set of tasks.
  4. The total estimate cost of the project is $420,000 CAD. A detailed budget can be found later in this document.
